CR123A batteries have been adopted by military and law enforcement organizations because they are able to provide high output for lights and other electronics. Lithium batteries deliver about twice the power per gram of alkaline batteries, and don’t decline in output as batteries are consumed (Light will be as bright when the batteries are almost used up as when the batteries are new).
